Without a submitted cancellation form the student will automatically agree to the spring semester fee. Open conservatory students cannot apply for fee reductions.
The tuition fees of the open conservatory are higher than our fees in basic education, because of the financial system regulated by the state. Therefore, open conservatory studies are not state-funded and the students need to cover all of the costs. The tuition fee depends on the weekly amount of tuition and students follow an individual curriculum.
Billing
Autumn semester will be billed in September-October and spring semester in January-February.
Payment
Tuition fees must be paid in due time. It is possible to discuss payment arrangements with our accountant. If the tuition fee for autumn semester is unpaid by the end of the year, studies will be considered concluded. Similarly, if the tuition fee for spring semester is unpaid by the end of the semester, studies will be considered concluded at the end of May.

Reduction to tuition fees in Basic Art Education of music and dance
Reduction to tuition fees can be applied for based on financial status. The reductions are granted for the whole school year. Open conservatory students cannot apply for fee reductions. With students who have started mid-term, or in situations where the financial status of a student changes abruptly, applications for tuition fee reductions will be handled in January. Basic art education and municipality of residence
A study place at Kuopio Conservatory is dependent on a special agreement, a statutory local government transfer, between the student’s municipality of residence and the conservatory. The municipalities make yearly decisions on the amount of the statutory local government transfer, which may also have negative effects on the study places available in the area of a certain municipality. The decisions are made on the municipality level.
