International affairs

Music and dance are expressive forms of art, which bring people together from all around the world crossing linguistic and cultural borders.

Internationality is a natural part of Kuopio Conservatory’s operations in both basic music and dance education and upper secondary vocational training in music. We appreciate our global relations and work constantly to establish new connections. The Finnish national board of education has given Kuopio Conservatory an Erasmus+ accreditation in vocational education training for 2022-2027. The given accreditation is an indication of a long-term history of international activities and Kuopio Conservatory is committed to following the quality standards of the Erasmus+ programme: supporting inclusion, digitality and acknowledging environmental issues.

Kuopio Conservatory is active in several pedagogical projects with partner institutions from Finland and Europe. We encourage international mobility by organizing visits to other institutions, work-place learning and job shadowing possibilities. On a regular basis, we invite professionals and students in the field of music and dance to visit our conservatory. For example, professionals of ECMTA (European chamber music teachers’ association) have visited our conservatory giving guest lectures and master courses.
